so here is the scoop. mostly in picture form. (lie)
my weekend with the cliffords was perfect.
i will admit i had an idea, but i was not honestly not entirely clued in...
friday night i spent talking and laughing like we were twelve with the
cutest future sister-in-law chicks....till 4:30am
apparently they were supposed to keep me there for most of the next morning
so mom/chris could set up and things... (didn't happen)
i got up at 7:30, with a need for a large dose of pain killers, and i went downstairs.
darlene looked at me like, "oh crap!" (but of course, i didn't pick up on it...)
she was making the food for our little
secret-but-apparently-not-so-secret-rendezvous
and played it off like they were for a picnic later.... (i am so obliv.)
chris and dad showed up to say they went for an early morning "ride"(on the quads)
like its something they do all the time...
(again, bought it. "sure, why not... it's a bonding thing...")
chris came and told me we should go on a walk and i thought,
"oh, maybe this is it!"
we went on a pleasant walk and ended at a pretty water crossing...
...then turned back....
"WHAT?!" ok. it's not happening then....
we went home and most everyone was gone.
we sat on the perfect porch swing, enjoying the weather,
answering the phone every thirty seconds or so....
when shelby (youngest of the sisters) shows up on a quad.
CC gets all excited and says we should go!
(impromptu of course.... totally not planned....
wow- can't believe i didn't see right through this...)
the ride was fun and we ended up near a pretty creek.
oh sweet, he's being all romantic and crap and wants to look at the water and what not...
so we stopped a minute and i assume that we are going to get back on the hog and cruise some more.
then we walked around a huge rock to find this:
before we even saw what it was, i was a goner!
the next phase involves tears and blubbering and spurts of excitement....
(for those do not which to projectile vomit, i will leave the details out...;)
after he popped the question, i hugged him and he asked,
"so is that a yes?"
to which i replied:
der!
i could't be a happier camper!
of course he played a few songs (i cried), we tried to eat something (no longer hungry),
but then we just headed back...
and i was shocked to see this crew!:
he had invited them up so they wouldn't miss it and they loved it.
this might be my favorite picture though.
i already win.
in fact, i knew after only 1 week i would marry him...
for his mother if nothing else!
